Woosekwan Taekwondo Association

Description:

We are an independent Martial Arts organization with our own traditions, belt ranking system and promotional requirements. We are looking for students who have a great desire to learn and are looking for a place to push and challenge their mind, body, and spirit to the next level. The word \"Woosekwan\" is actually a conjunction of words made up of the Korean terms “Woose” which is mainly used in Taekwondo sparring competition to declare one fighter the winner of a match based on superiority and “Kwan” (Hanja: 館; Hangul: 관) in Korean literally means building or hall, but when used in martial arts it can also refer to a school or clan of martial artists who follow the same style and/or leader. When combined these words can be loosley translated as \"School of Superiority\". The WTA was founded in 2008 and re-structured in 2011 after merging with the New Vision Taekwondo Association which has existed for more than 27 years. Today, the WTA serves not only as the source of Instruction but also the governing body of the Woosekwan Taekwondo System. The WTA is an independent, non-political Taekwondo organization that is dedicated to it\'s promotion and cultivation of the Woosekwan Taekwondo System throughout the world.
